Students who participate in a University of Miami study abroad program for a semester or a year and meet all of the established criteria listed below are eligible to compete for this scholarship to help defray costs associated with studying abroad. The donors request that preference be given toself-identified gay and lesbianstudents. The University may modify or disregard any selection criteria if determined to be contrary to law or then existing University policy. These awards will be up to $2,500.
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
Be a currently enrolled University of Miami degree-seeking undergraduate student
Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0
Demonstrate financial need
Submit a complete application to participate in an IEEP study abroad program, including all supporting documentation, by the published program application deadline
Be accepted to an undergraduate credit-bearing program offered by IEEP
Submit the Lawrence R. Hyer/Edward Pascoe Study Abroad Scholarship application by the scholarship application deadline date
Funds are limited, and these are competitive scholarships. Awards will be made on the basis of academic merit, financial need, essay, personal interview, and estimated expenses overseas.
