  • Accommodation costs (program costs) are estimated based on higher end expenses
  • Accommodation costs (UM Costs) are an average of all on-campus options (2023-2024)
  • Meals (program costs) are estimated using the per diem rates for the location abroad (US Dept of State Per Diem Rates)
  • Meals (UM Costs) are based on the Residential block (2023-2024)
  • Personal expenses (program costs) are based on the Spanish Consulate visa requirement of needing $700 per month while abroad 
  • Health Insurance - UM/Personal is noted in both columns as students are encouraged to maintain their USA health coverage while abroad, even though they are required to purchase supplemental international insurance (at low cost)

All other rates and costs are sourced from the Undergraduate Financial Assistance Website for Cost of Attendance. These amounts were divided by 2 to determine the cost for one semester.
